Jail-A-Thon – October 17
Crime Stoppers of Halton will be locking up some local celebs and community members to raise funds and awareness for the organization. 100 percent of ‘bail money’ collected will support Crime Stoppers of Halton. Donate online.

If you have a specific jailbird you would like to help make their bail, please select their page to donate or fill out our pledge form. If you would like to be a jailbird call 905-825-4747, ext. 5139. The makeshift jail will be set up at Burlington Mall from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

100 Women Who Care Burlington Meeting – October 21
100 Women Who Care is a concept that’s been taking root in many communities across North America and it’s now come to life in Burlington. The concept is very simple – 100 women (or more), donate $100 each (or more if they choose) at four, one-hour meetings per year. The goal is for 100 Women Who Care Burlington to collectively generate a minimum of $40,000 annually for local charitable initiatives. The impact is very powerful! The meeting will take place at the Burlington Golf and Country Club. Click for more information.

Eco-Film Festival – Journey of the Universe – November 4
BurlingtonGreen has another terrific line-up of award winning films for their annual “Watch. Learn. Take Action” Eco-Film Festival this year. In partnership with the Burlington Public Library, they will host five public screenings of exceptional documentary films throughout the year highlighting different global environmental issues, followed by take action initiatives, guest speakers, and audience discussion on how individual and collective action can help the planet locally. All films will be screened at the Burlington Central Library, 2331 New Street, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the film beginning at 7 p.m. A $5 donation is welcome upon arrival to support event costs.
